本日もご訪問ありがとうございます。

夜になって雨が降り出しました。

 

日中は風があって、この時期としては涼しかったように思います。

午後３時過ぎのミカン（ミッチー＆貫太）。

ミッチーは風が通り抜けるリビングで、

 

いつの間にかくるっとヘソ天。

 

は〜っ、極楽、極楽

貫太はケージでぐっすり

 

「貫太〜。」って呼んでみたけど…

 

眠いみたい。

 

甘納豆のような肉球が可愛かった♡　

今日は金曜日だったので福島で被災した犬や猫、ブリーダー崩壊によって飼育放棄された犬、そして劣悪な多頭飼い現場から救出された犬たちを保護しているUKC JAPANのシェルターにボランティアに行ってきました。

とにかく気になっていたのがこのコの様子。

そうです、明らかに緑内障を発症しているメロンちゃん。

 

ケージの真上に３種類の目薬と痛み止めが入った袋が吊り下げられていました。

濡れティッシュでそっと目の周りの目やにと涙を拭いてやりましたが、

火曜日に見た時より目やにの量は減っていました。

そしてかなり落ち着いた雰囲気。

ほらね…

 

お散歩は他のボランティアさんがしてくださいました。

階段の上り下りはできませんが、外に出たらトコトコ歩き、ちゃんとオシッコもウンチもしていました。

餌も食べるようになってきたとのことです。良かった〜

メロンちゃんの診察結果を代表に聞きました。

牛眼（眼圧が高いため眼球が大きくなってしまう事）が進んだ右目の眼圧は16mmHg。（25mmHg以下が正常）

思ったより高くありませんでした。

既に目の機能は失われており、もちろん視力もありませんが、眼圧の異常な高まりは治まっているようです。

この値なら今は痛みはないはず。ほっ

そして心配していた左目ですが、なんと4mmHgだったとか！

えっ、4？　40じゃなくて？？

…と思わず代表に聞いちゃいました。

大きな右目と痛そうにショボショボさせている左目。大量の目やにと涙。

てっきり左目も緑内障だと思っていましたが、もしかしたら違うのかもしれません。

病院の先生も「角膜の炎症をおさえる目薬をさしながら様子を見ましょう」っておっしゃったそうです。

前の記事で「こちらの病院は緑内障の治療ができない」なんて書いてしまいましたが、眼圧の測定もしてくれたようだし、現在は対応出来る先生がいらっしゃるのかもしれません。

目薬ですが、朝、代表がシェルターに来た時点眼。

今日はお昼頃私が３回に分けて点眼。他の曜日も出来そうなボランティアさんにお昼頃さしてもらうそうです。

そして夜、代表が帰る時に点眼。

このようなペースでメロンちゃんをサポートしていくことになりました。

 

緑内障を発症した愛犬をもつブログのお友達から「何か援助出来る事はないですか？」と温かいお申し出をいただきました。

眼圧が高い時の痛み、苦しみをご存知なだけに、いてもたってもいられないお気持ちなのでしょう。

メロンちゃんの治療に関しては、今はシェルターにお任せしたいと思いますが、

この先病状が悪化し、例えば手術が必要になったりしたら、みなさまの温かいお気持ちに甘えさせていただくことがあるかもしれません。

それまでは、多くの方々の応援を胸に、微力ながらメロンちゃんをサポートしていこうと思っています。

メロンちゃん、眼圧びっくりしました。
そんなに低いの？？
ずっと目薬を点眼していたはなよりも低いよ。
でも右目はこうなるまで相当痛い日もあったんだよね（泣）
今、右目痛くないのなら安心です。
ご近所のコロちゃんと同じ感じです。
お目目の大きさはもうどうにもできないけれど
痛みを感じずコロちゃんもお散歩してるの。
あとは左目の角膜の状態がよくなって
目ヤニや涙が改善されるといいな。
また次の段階になったとき
みんなで考えていきましょうね。
少しのちからでも集まれば苦しんでる子たちが
元気になれるかもしれないものね。
連日丁寧な詳しい報告を本当にありがとう。
暑くなりますから体調に気をつけてくださいね。

痛くないならOKOK！
あとは目ヤニが出なくなればいいってことだよね？
目薬、効果あるといいなぁ。
でも了解！
必要なことが生じたときは、なんでも手伝うよ！
ボランティアもそうだけれど、報告も一仕事だから、
ホント、Michyさんはよくやってくれてるって思ってる。
いつもいつも感謝の気持ちでいっぱいだよ。

ミカンコンビの平和で穏やかな日常が、
すべてのわんずに訪れるといいのにね。

Michyさんおはようございます。
朝５時どしゃ降りで雷は鳴りちょっと外に出ただけで
全身ずぶ濡れでしたが、６時過ぎにはほぼ
止んでホッとしました。

メロンちゃんの眼圧がそんなに低かったとは！
代表もきちんと病院に連れて行かれ先生からの
詳しい説明をMichyさんにお伝え下さり
ほっとしました。
火曜日に見たメロンちゃんの表情より
和らいだ感じで良かったですね～♡
みなさんの優しいあたたかなお心遣いで
メロンちゃん本当に本当に寒川のUKC JAPANに
移動して良かったわね。
幾ら最初は愛護の気持から保護して多頭飼いを始めても
この状況は飼育放棄と何ら変わりない悲惨な状況！
香川の元飼い主の無責任な飼育にただただ怒り・・・

ミッチーちゃん貫太君は安心してぐっすりお昼寝～♪
飼い主によってこんなにも犬生の違いを見るに付け
最後までしっかり共生出来ない飼育は多くの
方にご迷惑をかけることを肝に銘じて欲しいですね！

そうでしたか...
とにかく痛みがなくて、メロンちゃんが不快な思いをしないことを願うばかりです。
眼圧が低すぎるのも気になりますが...
これからも定期的に受診してもらえるといいですね。

メロンちゃんのことが気になってさぁ~夜電話かけようと思ったよ（笑）
で･･･夜中の土砂降りで目が覚めて、スマホから確認いたしました。
お疲れなのに報告ありがとうです。
メロンちゃんの眼圧の低すぎる数値にびっくり☆
4なんて眼圧あるわけ？
あーくは最低8mmHPっ~のはあったけどね。
メロンちゃんの目は、
逆に50・60mmHPと言われてもちっとも驚かない目だよねぇ。
あーくも予防接種だけお世話になっているあの病院。
眼圧を計れるようになったんだ！
それは嬉しい。緑内障の早期発見につながるもの！
でも、メロンちゃん♪本当に目の周りが綺麗になってきたね。
心なしか右目も小さく見える。

次回はお散歩じゃ！待ってろよ！メロンちゃん。

こんにちは、初めまして！
miw@さんのブログから参りました。
私も、今年2月に一度だけUKCにお手伝いに伺いました。
その後は、行きたいという気持ちはあるものの、仕事やら諸々で再訪できず、、悶々としています。
メロンちゃんのこと、詠みました。
とても心配です。
万が一症状が悪化して手術が必要になったりした場合は、何かできることがあればお手伝いさせていただきたいと思います！
今は、症状が好転するよう祈っています。
